Coca‑Cola HBC, the leading bottler of the Coca‑Cola Company products, was today named the global beverage industry sustainability leader by the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices. The company achieved a total score of 90 which is 3 points higher than last year and 40 points higher than the industry average.

This is the ninth year that Coca‑Cola HBC has been included in the global ranking due to its leader status in the field of sustainability in 2015. During the year Coca‑Cola HBC further reduced its environmental footprint and lowered carbon emissions to a two-digit value. Furthermore, the company managed to reduce its water consumption per one litre of beverage produced and the amount of packaging, despite having achieved higher production and sales volumes. In 2015, Coca‑Cola HBC was one of the 12 leading companies worldwide which established objectives for carbon reduction based on scientifically verified data, both for direct and indirect business operations. By establishing an internal water and carbon price in 2015 and committing to practical ways for accounting thus contributing to sustainable development, Coca‑Cola HBC supports the global efforts towards achieving sustainability goals adopted by the United Nations.
Coca‑Cola HBC is the most versatile bottling company in the Coca‑Cola system, serving almost 600 million consumers in 28 established, developing and emerging countries on 3 continents.
